CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Cubs have picked Mike Quade (kwah-dee) as their new manager.

The team announced a two-year contract with Quade on Tuesday, with a club option for the 2013 season.

The 53-year-old Quade had served as interim manager for the Cubs after Lou Piniella stepped down in late August. He was the Cubs third case coach for nearly four seasons.
