WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is heading west on a five-state, four-day campaign swing, his longest of the season.
He’ll be raising money and rallying voters in Washington state, California and Nevada for Democratic Sens. Patty Murray, Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid.
Obama will also stump for gubernatorial candidates in Oregon, California and Minnesota ahead of the Nov. 2 elections.
Obama has campaigned with each of the three senators — more than once in some cases. But he is making return visits because he needs a Democratic majority in the Senate to help get his agenda through Congress during the next two years.
The president departs Wednesday and is scheduled to return Saturday night.
