VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — About 110 people were evacuated from 64 apartments in Vancouver while firefighters aired out chlorine fumes.

The Oregonian reports firefighters responded to a report of an explosion Wednesday evening that may have been caused by a maintenance worker adding chlorine to a basement pool. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

A hazmat team found elevated levels of chlorine through the building. After doors and windows were opened, residents returned by 10 o’clock.
