IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Iowa guard Theairra Taylor is expected to miss the season after tearing a ligament in her left knee.

Hawkeyes coach Lisa Bluder said Thursday that Taylor tore the anterior cruciate ligament and lateral meniscus during preseason practice.

Taylor, a sophomore, tore her right ACL last December and missed the rest of the 2009-10 season.

Bluder also says guard Trisha Nesbitt ruptured the plantar fascia in her right foot and will be sidelined for at least a month.

Iowa, which is seeking its fourth straight trip to the NCAA tournament, opens against Southern on Nov. 12.
