HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut coach Randy Edsall says quarterback Cody Endres will not play again for the Huskies.

Endres was suspended Wednesday for the remainder of the season for an unspecified violation of university policies. Edsall said Thursday that Endres will not be welcomed back next year.

The school would not confirm several published reports that Endress failed a third drug test. The junior had already served a monthlong suspension in September for a violation of school rules.

Edsall said redshirt freshman Michael Box will start for the Huskies (3-3) on Saturday at Louisville. Senior Zach Frazer, who started the first four games of the season, will back him up.
