DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — First-round draft pick Jared Odrick has been placed on injured reserve by the Miami Dolphins, ending his season.

The defensive end was on the verge of returning from a broken right leg when he hurt his left foot at the end of practice Wednesday. He worked with the first team from the start of training camp, but has been sidelined since he sustained a slight leg fracture in the season opener.

Odrick was taken with the 28th pick in the April draft.
