Yale Elementary School received the state’s Apple Award for its improved state test scores.

The award is given each year to five schools statewide. The school’s student scores on the 2010 Measurements of Student Progress showed improvement from the 2009 Washington Assessment of Student Learning.

Yale and the other schools selected receive a $25,000 grant to use for capital construction purposes selected by students in the school and approved by the district.

The Washington State Legislature provides the Apple Award.
