ACAPULCO, Mexico (AP) — The IOC is debating whether to include women’s ski jumping at the 2014 Winter Olympics, as well as new events in snowboarding, skiing, figure skating, biathlon and luge.

The International Olympic Committee executive board is meeting Monday to decide on possible additions for the games in Sochi, Russia.

Women’s ski jumping was turned down twice for inclusion at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. The IOC said the sport lacked a sufficient number of elite competitors.

IOC officials say the event may be accepted on a provisional basis.

Also proposed: slopestyle events both in snowboard and alpine freestyle, ski halfpipe, a team Alpine event, mixed relay in biathlon, and team figure skating and luge events.
