DENVER (AP) — The Oakland Raiders plan to start Jason Campbell against the Denver Broncos and Bruce Gradkowski will serve as the third-string quarterback.

The Raiders waited all week to announce a starter. Campbell, who has a sore knee, has been splitting reps with Kyle Boller in practice. Gradkowski was limited because of a sore throwing shoulder.

The Broncos will be without five defensive players, including Pro Bowl safety Brian Dawkins (knee), cornerback Andre’ Goodman (thigh) and pass-rushing linebacker Robert Ayers (foot).

Cornerback Champ Bailey (ribs) and receiver Eddie Royal (groin) were active for the game.
