Train destroys car stuck on tracks in east Vancouver

Driver hears whistle, escapes unharmed

A BNSF Railway train struck a car that was stuck on the tracks in east Vancouver on Sunday evening.

No one was hurt in the accident that happened about 7:30 p.m. at the crossing near 147th Avenue and Rivershore Drive.

Officials said a pizza-delivery man’s car became high-centered on the tracks and he could not free the car in time.
