CHELALIS, Wash. (AP) — The Lewis County sheriff’s office says the crash site of an airplane missing with three people on board has been found after a two-day search.

Chief Deputy Stacy Brown says ground crews spotted the site at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday but have not been able to reach it because of the rugged terrain and snow. She says they do not yet know the condition of the three people on board.

Brown says the wreckage is about 912 miles northeast of Morton.

The pilot and two passengers took off Monday from Chehalis for Lewiston, Idaho, in a plane registered to Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute in Chehalis.

About 10 minutes into the flight the pilot of the twin-engine Cessna radioed that he was turning back because he lost power in one engine.
