WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) — A Chelan County jail guard accused of taking money to allow fast food, tobacco and girlfriends into the jail has pleaded not guilty to bribery charges.

At the arraignment Wednesday for Charles B. Storlie, his trial was set for Jan. 18 in Chelan County Superior Court.

The Wenatchee World reports the 40-year-old is on paid leave from the Chelan County Regional Justice Center where he has worked for 15 years. He was arrested Oct. 12 and is free on bail.

Police say Storlie took money from inmates at the jail in Wenatchee in return for contraband: a cell phone, tobacco, bags of fast food and sexual visits with girlfriends.

Storlie also is accused of releasing one inmate four hours early.
