MONROE, La. (AP) — Quarterback Kolton Browning rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another score to help Louisiana-Monroe beat Troy 28-24 on Saturday, ending the Trojans’ 13-game Sun Belt Conference winning streak.

The win by the Warhawks (4-4, 3-2) is the first loss in league play for Troy (4-3, 3-1) since a 31-30 loss to Louisiana-Monroe in 2008.

Louisiana-Monroe broke a 14-14 tie in the third quarter when Tavarese Maye scored on a 43-yard run. The Warhawks pushed their lead to 28-14 after Browning had a 9-yard rushing score late in the third.

Browning finished with 226 yards passing for the Warhawks. Maye, who had 121 total yards, also caught a 48-yard touchdown.

A late interception by Robert Nelson sealed the victory for Louisiana-Monroe.
