Brown’s 2 TDs lead Bryant past Albany (N.Y.) 24-7

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) — Jordan Brown rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns to lead Bryant to a 24-7 win over Albany (N.Y.) on Saturday.

Brown, who finished with 38 carries, scored on runs of 41 and 1 yards. His second touchdown run gave the Bulldogs (5-3, 2-3 Northeast Conference) a 14-7 lead with 14:48 left in the second quarter.

Bryant totaled 409 yards on offense, holding the Great Danes (3-5, 1-4) to 291 yards.

The Bulldogs gave themselves more cushion when Chris Bird made a 38-yard field goal in the third quarter and Samad Wagstaff returned an interception 43 yards for a touchdown in the fourth.

Mike Croce completed 15 of 31 passes for 181 yards for the Bulldogs.

Albany quarterback Buddy Leathley passed for 179 yards and two interceptions, completing 13 of 29 passes. Leathley connected with Drew Smith on a 46-yard touchdown in the first half.
