Isijola leads Rhode Island past Towson 30-20

TOWSON, Md. (AP) — Ayo Isijola ran for two touchdowns, Steve Probst threw for another score and Rhode Island ended a three-game losing streak with a penalty-filled 30-20 victory over Towson on Saturday.

Trailing 10-7 in the second quarter, the Rams (3-5, 2-3 Colonial Athletic Association) reeled off 20 straight points to deal the Tigers (1-7, 0-5) their sixth straight loss.

Probst was 13-for-23 for 182 yards for the Rams, who were penalized 11 times for 108 yards. Towson committed nine penalties for 100 yards.

Joe Migliarese’s 4-yard touchdown reception put Rhode Island ahead for good with 4:09 left in the first half and Isijola’s second TD, a 1-yard run 37 seconds before halftime, made it 21-10. Louis Feinstein kicked two third-quarter field goals for a 27-10 lead.

Towson’s Chris Hart was 19-for-39 for 204 yards and a touchdown, and rushed 18 times for 100 yards.
