Stony Brook eases past Charleston Southern 41-21

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) — Miguel Maysonet rushed for three touchdowns and caught a pass for a score to lead Stony Brook to a 41-21 win over Charleston Southern on Saturday.

Maysonet finished with 158 yards on 16 carries, while Brock Jackolski added 183 yards on the ground on 16 attempts and a touchdown for the Seawolves (4-4, 3-0 Big South Conference). Maysonet had rushing scores of 32, 8 and 9 yards.

Stony Brook trailed 7-0 in the first quarter to the Buccaneers (2-6, 0-4) after Andrew Trudnowski threw a 3-yard touchdown to Josh Atkinson. But the Seawolves answered with 34 straight points, capped by Michael Coulter’s 35-yard passing score to Maysonet in the third.

Coulter, who completed 9 of 11 passes for 145 yards, also had a 25-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Gush in the final quarter.

Trudnowski had 228 yards passing for the Buccaneers.
