NEW YORK (AP) — Darryl Whiting carried 38 times for 251 yards and two first-quarter touchdowns for Fordham, which defeated Georgetown 24-19 on Saturday.

Whiting’s first 2-yard TD run capped a seven-play, 80-yard drive by the Rams (4-5) for the game’s first score. His second 2-yard score came after Georgetown’s Jayah Kaisamba intercepted a Ryan Higgins pass but fumbled, with Fordham’s Stephen Skelton recovering at the Hoyas’ 12.

Andrew Schaetzke’s 47-yard return after another interception of Higgins drew the Hoyas (3-6) within 14-7, but Fordham answered with a field goal.

The Rams made it 24-7 with 1:34 until halftime on Higgins’ 20-yard pass to Jason Caldwell after Brendan Melanophy intercepted Isaiah Kempf’s pass in the Fordham end zone for a touchback.

Scott Darby took over at quarterback for Georgetown in the second half and passed for one touchdown and ran for another.
