Nine months after taking the reins of major Vancouver employer RS Medical, John Konsin announced Wednesday that he has hired eight people to form a new executive team at the company.

All report directly to Konsin, who was handpicked as chief executive in January when longtime CEO Rick Terrell stepped aside to devote more time to product development at the company.

Ann Demaree, director of marketing services for the company, said the eight executive positions are all new and reflect the company’s decision to focus on market growth. No one was forced out of the company to make room for the new executive team, she said.

The new executives of RS Medical, which also goes by International Rehabilitative Services Inc., are:

o Sam Reinkensmeyer, chief financial officer and vice president of finance.

o Attorney Patrick Cougill, vice president of legal, quality and regulatory affairs.

o Rick Harper, vice president of sales.

o Tom Pierce, vice president of human resources.

o Dr. Dominic Tong, vice president of medical and clinical affairs.

o Patricia White, vice president of marketing and business development.

o Doug Brunner, vice president of operations.

o Bob Harmon, director and general manager of RS Medical Direct.

RS Medical employs more than 500 people, including about 325 at its Vancouver facilities at 14011 S.E. First St. There, the company produces and markets a variety of electrotherapy products and braces that reduce pain and improve function. The devices are sold to insurance companies and prescribed by physicians.
