CHESAPEAKE, Va. (AP) — A former police detective has pleaded guilty to robbing a Chesapeake bank.

Preston Walcker admitted committing the May robbery at Old Point National Bank. He entered his plea at a hearing Thursday.

The Virginian-Pilot says the 44-year-old Walcker is a former sheriff’s homicide detective from Everett, Wash. The newspaper reports he lost his job following a conviction for prescription fraud after suffering a job related injury. He later worked as a counselor in Washington and as an investigator at a Norfolk law firm.

He still faces trials for three other alleged robberies in Virginia Beach and Hanover County.
