SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The family of Spokane Valley nursery owner Scott Creach is hoping to learn how he was shot to death by a sheriff’s deputy after Deputy Brian Hirzel talks Friday with investigators.
His questioning was delayed when he went on a weeklong vacation after the Aug. 25 shooting at the Plant Farm. Creach took a gun to check on a suspected prowler and ended up in a confrontation with the deputy in an unmarked car in the parking lot.
The 74-year-old Creach also was a Baptist pastor. He was buried Thursday at his childhood home in Hammon, Okla.
The Spokesman-Review report Spokane Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich (kuh-NEZ’-oh-vich) hopes to release information Tuesday about the investigation.
