KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Miguel Cabrera was not in the Detroit Tigers’ lineup Friday night at Kansas City because of left biceps tendinitis.

Cabrera, batting .336 with 33 home runs and 108 RBIs, left in the sixth inning Thursday at Minnesota due to the injury after going 0 for 3 and striking out twice. He is a career .351 hitter with 14 HRs and 43 RBIs in 49 games against the Royals.

He was listed as day to day.

Don Kelly, batting .234 with five home runs and 17 RBIs, replaced Cabrera at first base. It was only Kelly’s fourth start at the position. He started 24 games in the outfield and 12 at third base.
