Vancouver police release image depicting acid assailant
Anyone who recognizes attacker asked to call detective

The Vancouver Police Department released this composite drawing of a woman suspected in an Aug. 30 acid-throwing attack on Bethany Storro of Vancouver. Storro described her assailant as black, with black hair pulled into a ponytail. She was approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall. She was wearing a green top and khaki shorts.
Vancouver police detectives on Thursday met with Bethany Storro, the victim in the acid assault, and have created an image depicting the woman who allegedly attacked her.
The Major Crimes Team is asking those who may recognize the woman from the image, or have other information about her identity, to help police identify and find her.
The attack occurred shortly before 7:15 p.m. Monday, along Columbia Street just north of West Eighth Street and Esther Short Park.
Storro, 28, was found sitting on the sidewalk screaming with pain after acid was thrown into her face. Bystanders helped her and summoned paramedics and police.

Storro, a Vancouver resident, now is a patient at the Oregon Burn Center at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland. She suffered severe burns to her face in the attack and has undergone surgery.
Police have been checking out about 20 calls from people who want to help find the assailant, and detectives are hoping for more tips.
Storro described her attacker as “pretty,” and said she thinks she had three piercings at the top of her left ear. She said the woman was black, wore no makeup, and had black hair pulled back into a ponytail. Storro said the woman who threw the acid was approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall. She was wearing a green top and khaki shorts.
The assailant also was described as being between age 25 and 35.
Police say the assailant may have a slight build.
