SEATTLE (AP) — A deadly week in the Puget Sound area continues with the death of a 25-year-old Sultan man in a confrontation with Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies.

The incident early Saturday is the sixth violent encounter for police in as many days.

Two Snohomish deputies responded to a call about a man causing a disturbance in Gold Bar, about 25 miles east of Everett. The sheriff’s office says a fight began and a stun gun was used on the man. He stopped breathing and the deputies began CPR, but he was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.

Late Friday night, Seattle police wounded an armed man in West Seattle, while Tacoma police fatally shot a man with a knife earlier in the day. Deaths also occurred Tuesday in Federal Way and in Spanaway, south of Tacoma, and on Monday in Seattle.
