SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) — Police say a 33-year-old Salem woman died after the raft on which she was floating overturned in the McKenzie River.

Autumn Lee was part of a group of rafters and kayakers paddling from Paradise Campground to Forest Glen Park on Sunday.

Police say that despite a guide’s instructions, several people on Lee’s raft stopped paddling and moved to one side of the raft. The raft flipped and dumped them all into the river.

Lee was tangled in a downed tree. The Oregonian reports that despite CPR, she was pronounced dead.
