PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Classes are resuming Tuesday at Skyline Elementary School in Portland where Kyron Horman disappeared on June 4.

A donated video surveillance system has been installed to help officials keep watch on students. Cameras are panning the exterior and the main hall.

A chain link “Wall of Hope” with cards and messages for Kyron was moved from the school last month to avoid disturbing students.

KATU-TV reports Kyron’s eighth birthday will be Thursday, and it will be celebrated that evening at West Main Church of Christ in Medford. Supporters of the missing boy’s family also plan a birthday party for him Sunday at the Family Fun Center and Bullwinkle’s Restaurant in Wilsonville. It was one of Kyron’s favorite places to go.
