A few things about the already constant whining about Boise State’s possibility of playing for the national championship:

1) There is no guarantee the Broncos will go unbeaten now that they beat Virginia Tech. Yes, they will be favored in the rest of their games — heavily favored in many of them — but it is a long season.

2) If Boise States makes the BCS title game, it will be the first time a non-BCS conference team has ever played in that game. Hardly a crisis.

3) Any of the power conference teams that go 11-1 and complain that Boise State makes the title game instead of them could have easily scheduled Boise State this year.

College football coaches and fans knew a couple years ago just how good Boise State was getting, and there was a chance they could get to the BCS title game.

The powers could have invited Boise State for a non-league game instead of taking on Miami of Ohio and Appalachian State, or San Jose State and Duke, or Rice and Wyoming, or New Mexico and Portland State, or Marshall and Ohio.

Reports surfaced Tuesday that Reggie Bush might be stripped of his Heisman Trophy by the end of this month.

In an unrelated note, E-Bay has a listing for a 2005 trophy of a football player given by an athletic club in downtown New York.

Seller wants $100,000, but he will take $50,000 as long as the transaction happens prior to the end of the month.

Send money through Pay Pal to New Orleans.

Hmmmmm.
