SALEM, Ore. (AP) — More than 50 law enforcement officers raided rural property near Woodburn to serve a search warrant that resulted in six arrests and seizure of marijuana plants, methamphetamine and firearms.

The Marion County sheriff’s office said the property several miles east of Woodburn covers about 50 acres and was fortified with locked gates and equipped with surveillance cameras.

Among the six people arrested Tuesday were 63-year-old Thomas Ray Nearing, the property owner. He was charged with manufacture, possession and distribution of marijuana, theft and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Deputies said firearms recovered at the home included rifles that were later determined to be stolen during a burglary in Clackamas County.
