ST. LOUIS (AP) — New St. Louis Rams wide receiver Mark Clayton expects be ready in time for Sunday’s regular-season opener against Arizona.
Clayton spoke Wednesday after his first practice with the team. He was acquired Monday from the Baltimore Ravens.
Clayton adds needed experience to the team’s crew of wide receivers, especially after deep threat Donnie Avery was lost for the season with a knee injury.
Clayton and rookie quarterback Sam Bradford are both Oklahoma products and even worked together on drills the summer before Bradford’s junior year.
Coach Steve Spagnuolo wasn’t sure Wednesday whether Clayton would play against the Cardinals. He’ll get only three practices to prepare.
