NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — Matt Davison has been named the new president and publisher of the Idaho Press-Tribune in southwest Idaho.

Pioneer Newspapers President and CEO Mike Gugliotto announced Davison’s appointment Friday in Nampa.

Davison is leaving his post as publisher of the Ellensburg Daily Record in Washington state to take the new job in Canyon County, where he starts Oct. 4.

Both papers are owned by Pioneer Newspapers Inc.

Davison previously worked at the Idaho paper between 2003 and 2006 as its advertising director.

Davison replaces former publisher Rick Weaver, who accepted a job earlier this year as publisher of the Daily Inter Lake in Kalispell, Mont.
