SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Notre Dame quarterback Dayne Crist led the Irish on a touchdown drive to open the game and then went to the sidelines.

Crist was replaced by freshman Tommy Rees, who threw a quick interception that led to a game-tying TD for the Wolverines.

Crist remained on the sideline and there was no immediate word if he was injured. He completed 5 of 7 passes on the first drive, had three carries for 30 yards and then sneaked in for the Irish TD.
