SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Sioux Falls-based Sanford Health has broken ground on a children’s clinic in Oregon.

KELO-TV in Sioux Falls says the 9,000-square-foot Castle of Care clinic in Klamath Falls, Ore., is scheduled to open in 2012.

It’s one of five children’s clinics announced by Sanford Health. A Duncan, Okla., clinic opened last summer, and clinics are under construction in Belize and California. Plans also call for a Dublin, Ireland, clinic.

The Klamath Falls clinic will serve an area of 60,000 people, including more than 16,000 children.

Sanford officials say they hope to reach kids who otherwise would have had to go without medical care.
