CHICAGO (AP) — Pro Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs is active as expected for the Chicago Bears’ season opener against Detroit, while the Lions’ DeAndre Levy will miss the game with a pulled groin muscle.

Briggs had a sprained right ankle since the third preseason game against Arizona but practiced this week.

Levy was injured in the Lions’ third preseason game against Cleveland. Landon Johnson starts at middle linebacker in his place Sunday.
