YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) — Dominique Barnes returned a punt 86 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter to help Youngstown State coast to a 31-7 victory over Butler on Saturday night.

With the Penguins (1-1) leading 17-7, the Bulldogs drove into Youngstown State territory and had a third-and-4 at the Penguins’ 44. Luke Matelan’s sack of Andrew Huck forced the punt that Barnes returned to make it 24-7 with 3:35 left in the third quarter.

After a three-and-out on Butler’s next possession, Adaris Bellamy added his second touchdown of the game in the opening minute of the fourth quarter, a 25-yard run that capped an 80-yard drive.

Jamaine Cook rushed 18 times for 93 yards, Jordan Thompson 10 times for 65 yards and a touchdown and Bellamy six times for 60 yards for Youngstown State.

Huck threw for a touchdown on 20-for-32 passing for the Bulldogs but was limited to 148 yards.
