• Dan Foster, a certified financial planner and public accountant with Foster & Associates in Vancouver, was recently honored as part of a recognition program through Ameriprise Financial Services Inc. The program recognizes the firm’s top financial advisors. Foster & Associates is a franchise of Ameriprise with offices at 15609 Mill Plain Blvd. in Vancouver and in West Linn, Ore.

• CPA Karen deRenne has joined Stockton & Associates in Vancouver. A Gonzaga University graduate, deRenne is experienced in public and privately held businesses in a variety of industry sectors.

• Michael White, who has been with Providence Health Plans for nearly 20 years, has accepted the role of chief operating officer. He will have overall responsibility for claims and customer service, information systems, provider network strategy and sales and marketing of the health plan’s product line. Providence provides health care coverage services to more than 350,000 adults and children in Oregon, Washington and Alaska.

• The Washington Finance Officers Association has given six individuals the Professional Finance Officer award for 2010. They are: Sandra Hall, senior management analyst, Clark County; Tatana Bogush-Stakhov, senior management analyst, Clark County District Court; Tamara Dinius, finance/human resource manager, East County Fire and Rescue; Ken Andrews, finance director, Clark Regional Wastewater District; Denise J. Pearce, finance supervisor, Clark Regional Wastewater District; and Kathleen Streissguth, finance manager, Clark County Fire and Rescue.

• Jennifer McKune, who owns the Minnehaha/St. Johns Curves, has purchased the Salmon Creek Curves business. Beth Hamilton and Mark Benecke started the Salmon Creek fitness facility for women in September 2000. http://www.curves.com.

• The Development Center, founded by Gabriele M.Smith, and Debrah Williams, is a full-service mental health facility and a place for mental health clinicians to learn how to develop their own successful private practice.
