Ore. universities see jump in federal grant money

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Oregon’s three major research universities saw big jumps in grant money last year thanks to the federal stimulus program.

The Register-Guard of Eugene reports that research funding jumped 38 percent at Oregon Health and Science University to $392 million.

Oregon State University’s tally grew 9 percent to $275 million, and the University of Oregon’s rose nearly 18 percent to almost $136 million.
