Red Bulls acquire Ballouchy from Rapids for Kandji

SECAUCUS, N.J. (AP) — The New York Red Bulls have acquired midfielder Mehdi Ballouchy from the Colorado Rapids in exchange for forward Macoumba Kandji.

Ballouchy has appeared in 21 games for the Rapids this season, collecting three goals and five assists. The Moroccan-born 27-year-old has been with Colorado since July 2007.

Kandji was signed by New York last September from the Atlanta Silverbacks of USL-1. He scored one goal for the Red Bulls this season.
