VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — Vancouver police say a 23-month-old child died after being struck by county utility truck.

Police say that the child was playing in blackberry bushes around 3 p.m. Wednesday when it ran into the street where the truck was.

Vancouver police Sgt. Patrick Johns says that the child has not being supervised by an adult. Police say alcohol or speed were not factors. They say the driver attempted CPR on the child after the accident.

The child was transported to a local hospital, where the child was pronounced dead.
