EAST WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) — A tiny kitten no doubt used up one of her nine lives when she came out OK after riding 70 miles beneath a big pickup truck.
The Wenatchee World says driver Rod Thomas had no idea he had a little stowaway huddling behind a skid plate that protects his truck’s transmission. He drove 70 miles between Wenatchee and Moses Lake before tracing an odd meowing sound to the 6-week-old cat.
It took about five minutes, but Thomas was able to coax the cat out. He and others attending a sales meeting put some food, water, litter and old sweat shirts beneath the truck’s canopy, and his passenger settled in for a much-needed catnap.
Thomas thinks he might keep her. He’s named her “Lucky.”
