Wofford defeats Union, Ky., College 48-10

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Wofford scored on its first eight possessions Saturday night to defeat Union (Ky.) College 48-10.

Mitch Allen threw two touchdown passes to Brentin Bersin, and Eric Breitenstein and Brian Kass rushed for two scores each as the Terriers (2-1) took a 42-3 halftime lead.

Breitenstein, who rushed six times for 134 yards, scored on 60- and 68-yard runs. Bersin scored on 30- and 22-yard passes, and Kass had 16- and 4-yard touchdown runs.

Christian Reed kicked 47- and 48-yard field goals for Wofford.

Mike Brinkley completed 11 of 17 passes for 152 yards and a touchdown for Union (Ky.) College (1-2), an NAIA school that is 0-7 all-time against NCAA Football Championship Subdivision schools. The 38-point margin was the smallest of those defeats, and the 48 points are the second fewest the Bulldogs have allowed in those games.
