MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — BYU and West Virginia will meet on the football field for the first time in 2016.

The schools announced Thursday that the game will be held at FedExField, home of the NFL’s Washington Redskins in Landover, Md.

West Virginia athletic director Oliver Luck says playing at FedExField will help draw Mountaineer alumni from Washington, D.C., northern Virginia and Maryland.

FedExField hosted this month’s game between Boise State and Virginia Tech. Other future matchups being held there include Penn State and Indiana on Nov. 20, Notre Dame-Maryland and Army-Navy in 2011, Virginia Tech against Cincinnati in 2012, and Texas against Maryland in 2018.
