WASHTUCNA, Wash. (AP) — It wasn’t rain, snow, sleet or hail that halted U.S. mail service in Washtucna. It was the discovery of mold in the tiny town’s post office last April.
Since then there has been no mail service in the town 80 miles west of Pullman.
Residents must drive 12 miles each way to the post office in Hooper to get their mail. Postal officials say they are looking for a new location.
