Lewis passes Morehead State over Marist 45-39

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) — Zach Lewis passed for four touchdowns and Morehead State scored 21 consecutive third-quarter points to beat Marist 45-39 on Saturday.

Trailing 19-17 at halftime, the Eagles (2-2, 1-1 Pioneer League) scored on Lewis’ 9-yard run on their first second-half drive.

On the next possession by Marist (1-2, 0-1), Tony Bachman picked off Tommy Reilly’s pass at the Red Foxes’ 16. From there, Lewis found Andre Williams for a touchdown.

Morehead State’s Keaton May then forced and recovered a fumble by Atiq Lucas at the Marist 29. Lewis’ 21-yard pass to Drew Morgan made it 38-19.

Lewis was 33-for-46 passing with one interception.

For Marist, Reilly was 14-for-29 for 348 yards and three touchdowns, including 61- and 69-yarders to Michael Rios in the fourth quarter. Calvin McCoy ran for two Marist touchdowns, including a 76-yarder in the first quarter.
