WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Three-time champion Ellen Port took medalist honors in the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur for a record fourth time Sunday, shooting a 1-over 73 at Wichita Country Club.

The 49-year-old Port, a teacher and coach at John Burroughs High School in St. Louis, had a 2-over 146 total to top the 64 match-play qualifiers. She broke a tie with Carol Semple Thompson for the medalist mark

Two-time champion Meghan Stasi (74) of Oakland Park, Fla., and Katy Treadwell (72) of Oklahoma City finished a stroke behind Port in the event for players 25 and older.
