ST. LOUIS (AP) — St. Louis Cardinals 20-game winner Adam Wainwright will skip his next start, and the team says it’s unlikely he’ll pitch again this season.

Wainwright has a strained muscle in his right forearm and was examined Tuesday. A day earlier the team said he might be done for the year.

The right-hander had been set to start Thursday against Colorado. He ranks second in the National League in wins, ERA, innings pitched and strikeouts.
