PHOENIX (AP) — Steve Nash, the Phoenix Suns’ scoring and assists leader, was a late scratch against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night because of flulike symptoms.

Nash said he would play when asked shortly before the game. But when the starting lineups were announced, he was not listed at his usual point guard position.

He was replaced by Aaron Brooks.

Nash is averaging 15.3 points and leads the NBA in assists with an 11.4 average.
