Longtime Vancouver resident and veteran performer Michael Redman is headlining the 20th season of The Fabulous Palm Springs Follies as part of The Four Preps.

The Four Preps started in the 1950s and were made famous by such hits as “26 Miles” and “Big Man.” The current incarnation of the group includes its original lead singer, Bruce Belland. Redman, 65, joined the group about three years ago and has toured with them throughout North America.

The Palm Springs, Calif., show is an extended engagement for The Four Preps. They’ve been performing in the follies since March 8 and will continue to do so through May 15.

The Four Preps perform their own hits in the follies, as well as some covers, said Redman, who toured with Elvis Presley in 1970 and has performed on variety shows including “Donny & Marie,” “Johnny Mann’s Stand Up and Cheer” and “The Lawrence Welk Show.”

“We’re having a great time, the crowds are good, and it’s a fun show,” he said.
