NEW DELHI (AP) — A news report says that former Australia legspinner Shane Warne interested in coaching India’s cricket team.

The Mail Today newspaper reports Wednesday that Warne said coaching India would be a difficult job, but one that he would enjoy.

The coaching job with the newly crowned world champions became vacant after South African Gary Kirsten chose not to renew his three-year contract.

Warne is currently in India as coach of the Rajasthan Royals team of the cash-rich Indian Premier League. He coached that team to victory in the 2008 IPL.

The IPL Twenty20 tournament starts Friday.
