COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Missouri women’s coach Robin Pingeton (PINJ’-ton) has received a one-year contract extension through 2016.
Missouri was 13-18 in Pingeton’s first season after coming from Illinois State, including three victories over ranked opponents. The school said Monday that Pingeton’s guaranteed salary would not change but deferred compensation will increase by $25,000 beginning in 2012.
The Tigers were 5-11 in the Big 12, the school’s best showing since 2006-07. They ended an 12-game losing streak against No. 22 Texas and beat No. 23 Iowa State in the regular-season finale, and also beat No. 12 Georgetown.
Pingeton has a career record of 351-175.
