Ideas sought for neighborhood park

Salmon Creek — Public suggestions for the development of the Salmon Creek Community Club Neighborhood Park will be taken at a meeting at 6:30 p.m. April 20 at the Clark County Events Center at the Fairgrounds.

The meeting will be hosted by Clark County Public Works and Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation. It will be in the administration building conference room, 17204 N.E. Delfel Road.

Salmon Creek Community Club Neighborhood Park is at the corner of Northeast 159th Street and 20th Avenue.

Preliminary planning for the 4.5-acre neighborhood park began last year.

Whipple Creek runs through the property along the northwest boundary and connects with the Whipple Creek Greenway to the north.

The park is named for a now-defunct community club that donated the property to the county in the 1960s for a public park.

Construction may begin in 2012, if funding is available.

Neighbors unable to attend the meeting may still participate. The draft concept plan and other materials, including an electronic comment form, will be posted on the project Web page on April 21.

All comments must be received by May 5.
