OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — The Olympia City Council voted Tuesday in favor of creating a 25-foot no-panhandling zone around ATMs and parking pay stations.

The Olympian reports the ordinance could be finally passed at next Tuesday’s meeting.

Council members acted after hearing from businesses that aggressive panhandlers have been harassing people trying to pay for parking.
